- Be U.S. citizen
- Have attended Brookwood High School or South Gwinnett High School for at least 3 years
- Be a member in good standing of DECA or FBLA
- Have demonstrated academic success with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Have engaged in some form of community service
- Complete the application and a letter expressing how this scholarship will benefit the applicant and his/her future educational plans
- Verified acceptance to a school which offers associate or bachelor programs
- Family members of Snellville Commerce Club are not eligible.
Applications due April 19th, 2019
The Commerce Club FBLA-DECA scholarships for 2019 will be announced at our May meeting, and it's not too early for seniors at Brookwood and South Gwinnett High Schools to start thinking about applying.
The Commerce Club Selection Committee and the School representative shall select and notify the scholarship recipient.
If the recipient fails to enroll, withdraws from college, or does not maintain eligibility requirements, the Snellville Commerce Club will select another student if time permits; otherwise, funds will be held in the Snellville Commerce Club Scholarship account to be carried over to the next year
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded for use during the academic year for a student at Brookwood High School and South Gwinnett High School. Funds are to be used for tuition, books, or program supplies. Funds will be disbursed, directly to the educational institution as demonstrated by letter of receipt mailed to the Snellville Commerce Club.
In 2019, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Oreoluwa Aina of South Gwinnett High School and Matthew Lescota of Brookwood High School.
In 2018, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Arnesha Clark of South Gwinnett High School and Philena Yang of Brookwood High School.
In 2017, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Abby Cleek of South Gwinnett High School and Brandon Kang of Brookwood High School.
In 2016, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Amanda Yang of Brookwood High School and ReNyqua Farrington of South Gwinnett.
In 2015, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Andrew Ashburn of Brookwood High School and Destiny Broanax of South Gwinnett.
In 2014, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Erica Mills of Brookwood High School and Sarah Lawley of South Gwinnett.
In 2013, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Candace Morgan of Brookwood High School and Jamaré Mason of South Gwinnett.
In 2012, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Cole Hembree of Brookwood High School and Asante Farquharson of South Gwinnett.
In 2011, the Commerce Club awarded FBLA/DECA Scholarships to Aida Syrkett of Brookwood High School and Erika Galdamez of South Gwinnett.
The 2010 FBLA/DECA Scholarship was awarded to Emily Southard of Brookwood High School and McKenzie Parkins of South Gwinnett.
The 2009 FBLA/DECA Scholarship was awarded to Ms. Jamie Stebell and Mr. David "Carter" Zimmerman.
The FBLA/DECA Scholarship for 2008 was presented to South Gwinnett High School's Bessy Baby and Brookwood High School's David Pruitt.
